Our Physiotherapists

Matt Mcdonald (Master of Physical Therapy, BSc. in Kinesiology)

Matt gained an interest in rehabilitation after working through several injuries acquired over the course of a childhood spent in athletics. He graduated from the University of Manitoba Kinesiology program in 2019, during which he worked as a Strength Coach for two years training everyone from young athletes to older adults. Directly after that he entered the U of M’s Physical Therapy program and graduated in 2021.

After graduating, Matt worked as a physiotherapist in a small town clinic in rural Manitoba before moving to BC. For the past two years Matt lived and worked in Victoria where he continued to work with a wide variety of injuries and began to specialize in neurological and concussion rehabilitation. He has substantial experience treating people with neurological conditions including: Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s, Acquired Brain Injuries, Strokes, and Spinal Cord Injuries. Matt is passionate about life-long education and continuing to improve his knowledge and skills. His approach to care is based on a client centered model that tailors exercise prescription, education about injuries and conditions, activity modification, and hands on skills to his clients’ needs. Matt aims to help all of his clients return to, or better participate, in the activities that bring them joy and improve their quality of life.

Outside of work Matt enjoys staying active by playing basketball, cycling, and hiking. He also enjoys traveling, reading, and attending live music events with his friends and partner.

What our patients say

The team has been so helpful and supportive in the care for both my dad and mom . They have adapted, advised and worked around challenges to continue to support my parents at home .

Rohit S.

My mom continues to receive care from the Provectus Team. She sees Brandon regularly for exercise sessions, which have made her stronger and helped lower her risk of falling.

Recently, she began seeing Rosanne for acupuncture, massage, and cupping to relieve tight muscles and pain in the lower part of her body. Not long after starting treatment, she pulled a muscle near her knee. Thankfully, Rosanne was able to treat the pain and inflammation effectively with acupuncture and massage. One month later, she’s feeling much better—about 90% recovered.

The Provectus Team has played a key role in supporting my mom’s independence. Thanks to their care, she has been able to remain safely at home.
